The SCC Spring Stock Show hosted by Mid Sussex on March 10th had an excellent entry, and Simon Neesam, who was judging for Mid-Sussex, walked off with the top three BIS awards! Congratulations Simon! The pet entry was so large that we decided a second judge was needed to take the load off Jim. Adult Owned Pet winner and Superpet was Gryphon Stud, and Junior Owned Pet Winners were Dylan and Ella-may Field.

The next SCC show will be on April 14th, when Canterbury & Coast CC is hosting a Southern Cavy Club Pet Cavy Show, with Jacqui Nicholson presiding.

The following month on May 25th at the Bristol CC show, we are holding the Southern Cavy Club AGM, and we hope for a good attendance of people in the west of our area. Please get to the AGM if you can, as it is important that we hear the thoughts and opinions of as many SCC members as possible.

If you are a regular to the Southern Cavy Club website, you will have noticed that its appearance has changed. After Lee New stepped down as webmaster, it was not possible to continue with the original website. We are very pleased with the new look site and will be adding items through the year. As we don’t have a yearbook tin 2019, some of the information usually found in the book can now be found here on the website – Club Rules, Show Regulations etc.

If you are a member of the Southern Cavy Club and change any of your contact details, please remember to tell Margaret Hooper about it, as it is Margaret who looks after the members’ database along with the subscriptions. Margaret’s contact details are below.

*Please note that the closing date for proposals to be included on the AGM Agenda is Friday 12th April 2019. Proposals must be submitted in writing to the SCC Secretary, Penny Bell at 124a Orchard Way, South Bersted, Bognor Regis, West Sussex PO22 9JU, or by email to
