Points Scheme
The Southern Cavy Club Points Scheme is a way of celebrating the wins of your best cavies. Collecting points can lead to winning trophies, rosettes or certificates.
How do I win points?
The Points Competition celebrates the wins of exhibitors rather than individual cavies.
Points are awarded at designated SCC Points shows. These number 8/10 shows per year across the SCC area and will always include the SCC stock shows plus the host clubs of these shows. Points shows will be advertised in the show schedule.
Points are awarded to SCC members whose cavies are placed first, second or third in the section age challenges (adult, 5-8 and U5) in the following sections – Self, Coated, Marked and Ticked, Guide Standard, New and Emerging, Junior Purebred, Adult Pet and Junior Pet. If there are no age challenges on the schedule, points will be awarded for the Any Age Challenge. First = 3 points, second = 2 points and third = 1 point. Exhibitors must be an SCC member at the time of the show.
Points are awarded on an annual basis from 1 January to 31 December, and are awarded to the exhibitor, not the individual cavy. Exhibitors do not need to claim points, these are worked out for you. There is a prize given for the top exhibitor in each section.
